Homemade Lemon Vinaigrette

This "Wicked Easy" Lemon Vinaigrette is a versatile and tangy dressing that can brighten up any dish. It's a versatile condiment that can elevate the simplest greens into a gourmet salad and add a burst of citrusy freshness to roasted vegetables, grilled meats, or seafood. The best part though is it's incredibly easy to make at home, allowing you to customize the ingredients and adjust the taste to your liking!

The ingredients to create this zesty lemon vinaigrette can be adapted and changed to suit your tastes. The main ingredients are:

  • Freshly squeezed lemon juice, which is the star ingredient that provides the citrus flavor and tang.

  • Extra virgin olive oil which creates the rich base for the vinaigrette.

  • Dijon mustard which not only adds a hint of spiciness but also helps to emulsify the dressing.

  • Fresh herbs and garlic for added depth and fragrance.

  • Salt and Pepper as the base seasonings.

Prepare and combine the ingredients. Squeeze 2 to 3 lemons to get a 1/2 cup of lemon juice and remove the fresh herb leaves from the stems.

In a blender or food processor, combine the lemon juice, oregano, thyme, the optional garlic, and mustard. With the motor running, add the olive oil in a slow, steady stream to emulsify.

Season the vinaigrette with salt and pepper to taste. If you prefer a slightly sweet vinaigrette, you can add a little honey or maple syrup.

Transfer the vinaigrette to a container with a tight-fitting lid and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors blend. Shake well before using and serve over your favorite salads, grilled vegetables, or as a marinade for meats.

With this homemade lemon vinaigrette recipe, you are equipped to infuse your culinary creations with the bright and invigorating taste of fresh lemons! Simple and customizable, you can experiment with different herbs and flavors to find your perfect combination!
