Cuisine American, French
- 1 bunch Asparagus, about 1 pound
- 1 each Lemon, juiced
- 2 tbsp Olive Oil
- 1 tsp Garlic, minced
- As Needed Salt and Pepper
Preheat grill to medium heat.
Remove the woody ends of the asparagus by snapping the ends off. Bend each stalk gently about ⅔ of the way down the stalk until it naturally breaks where the woody part begins. Discard the ends.
Whisk the lemon juice, olive oil, minced garlic, salt (about ½ teaspoon) and pepper (about ¼ teaspoon) together in a large bowl. Add the trimmed asparagus or pour the mixture over the asparagus, and toss until well coated.
Place the asparagus on the grill perpendicular to the grates so they don't fall through. Grill until the asparagus begins to char and the stalks are just getting tender, about 3 to 5 minutes, depending in the thickness of the asparagus. Be sure to turn / rotate the asparagus around the halfway point of the cooking so they char on all sides.
Remove to a plate and serve immediately.
