Buttery Tomato Sauce
This "wicked easy" tomato sauce has a delicious buttery taste and is quick and easy to make and super versatile!

- 6 tbsp Butter
- 1 each Small Onion, diced (about ½ cup)
- 3 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 can Diced Tomatoes (28 oz.)
- ¼ tsp Dried Basil
- ¼ tsp Dried Oregano
- To Taste Salt & Pepper
Heat butter in a medium-sized saucepot. when melted, add in the diced onions and cook until translucent, about 3 to 4 minutes.
Add in the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
Pour in the can of diced tomatoes and the dried basil and oregano. Season to taste with the salt and pepper and then cook uncovered at a simmer for 30 minutes, stirring periodically.
When done, taste and correct the seasoning with salt and pepper if needed. You can leave the sauce chunky as it is, or puree until smooth using a food mill, immersion blender or food processor.
